1500th Bikram class taught today!
It all began in the Spring of 2006 - 9 weeks of intense Bikram Yoga Teacher Training!.. Hitting the 1500-class mark today really makes me reflect on how fortunate I’ve been over the past five and a half years to be able to teach this life-changing practice.
Many thanks to Bikram Choudhury for sharing his method with SO many of us!

Even your chakras like chocolate!
I already thought chocolate spoke to my soul, but these luscious delights put a literal spin on it! Chocoveda has created The Chakra Box: an Ayurvedic assortment of delicious, all natural, vegan confections, each one corresponding to a specific energy center in the body.
I had the Anahata green tea truffle today and meditated on my HEART CHAKRA. ♥

Ten Ways To Rise Above Plastics
Here are ten easy things you can do to reduce your ‘plastic footprint’ and help keep plastics out of the marine environment:
Choose to reuse when it comes to shopping bags and bottled water. Cloth bags and metal or glass reusable bottles are available locally at great prices.
Refuse single-serving packaging, excess packaging, straws and other ‘disposable’ plastics. ...
10 Years of YOGA!
Today is my 10-year anniversary of practicing yoga!
I am SO grateful for the many wonderful people I’ve met and experiences I’ve had along the way, and for the amazing gift of becoming a teacher. I can’t imagine what my life would look like if I hadn’t stepped into that yoga studio 10 years ago.. Heaps of LOVE and appreciation to my teachers and mentors for your brilliant...

Literacy.. in bed
I LOVE reading in bed, first thing in the morning, with the sunlight breaking through the window shades, and a fresh cup of coffee swirling aromatically beside me on the nightstand.
These are a few of my faves.. some you may have heard of, others maybe not.

A prayer I say to myself after each yoga class.
Dear God [Universe/Spirit],
Thank you for my strong, healthy, lean, tone, resilient, intelligent, flexible body.
Thank you for my teacher [the teacher], my teacher [the other practitioners around me], my teacher [my Self].
Allow me to greet the world with a positive attitude, a peaceful spirit, truthfulness in my thoughts and actions, humility, self-confidence, and unconditional love for myself...

Painted Fruit!
Well, we’re just a few days past the Autumnal Equinox, which means the days will continue to get shorter (and colder!), and those sweet, vibrant Summer fruits will soon be going into hibernation. But while there’s still warmth in the air and blueberries on the shelves, try this refreshing and antioxidant-rich recipe that is not only soul-nurturingly delicious, but sure to give you a...

Hatching Crow Flow
Here’s a little sequence that I call Hatching Crow that I sometimes use in my flow classes. I don’t typically start off with this flow - I usually put it as the 3rd or 4th sequence of the class.

Half Chair —>
Right Side Twisting Chair with palms in Prayer —> Open arms —>
Left Side Twisting Chair with palms in Prayer —> Open...

Ardha Chandrasana (Bikram style)
This is the first asana in the series, and a very important posture as far as setting the stage for the rest of your class. In the Bikram series, Ardha Chandrasana, or Half Moon Pose, includes the side bends (right, then left) as well as the backward bend that follows.
Before you move into the side bends, get a good stretch UP, to create a lot of length in the body and space between the...

My name is Jenni...
…and I guess I should tell you a little about myself, and how I came to yoga.
I was born in Encinitas, California, and moved to Kona, Hawai’i when I was 10 years old. I grew up in environments that fostered open-mindedness, spiritual awareness, and unconditional LOVE… the Spirit of Aloha.
When I was younger, I spent most of my free time outside, at the beach or paddling...
